Jeffersonville, IN – Torchy’s Tacos
A popular Texas-based chain is planning to open its first area location next year. Torchy’s Tacos has signed a lease for space at 1540 Veterans Parkway in Jeffersonville, and will open in the spring or summer of 2021. That area of Veterans Parkway also is home to Wild Eggs, Boombozz Pizza & Watch Bar and recently opened Chicken Salad Chick.
Bethesda, MD – Chiko
“Fine-casual” Chinese-Korean restaurant Chiko will open its third DC-area location in Bethesda this winter. The popular spot, which just won a RAMMY award for “casual restaurant of the year,” will take over the former Prima space at 7280 Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda Row. (The latter restaurant closed in April due to Covid.)
Altamont, NY – Curry Patta
A Pakistani restaurant called Curry Patta is being developed at 187 Main St. in Altamont. The owner is Nadia Conklin, a native of Pakistan whose family moved to the United States when she was 3. During the past two decades working as a regional manager for a multi-office dental practice, she long dreamed of opening a restaurant.
Conway, AR – Chicken Salad Chick
Chicken Salad Chick announced it will be expanding in Arkansas with its newest restaurant in Conway. With openings in Tennessee, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Florida in the past month alone, the Conway location continues to fuel Chicken Salad Chick’s Southeastern development and emphasizes its growth in Arkansas, marking the fourth restaurant opening in the state. Located at 2235 Dave Ward Drive, the Conway restaurant will celebrate its grand opening on October 28 and will offer free chicken salad for a year to the first 100 guests. Those awarded will be properly distanced and will receive a designated return time upon arrival to spread out the number of guests at the restaurant throughout the day.
Houston, TX – King Ranch Texas Kitchen
The Houston billionaire and business magnate are in a Texas state of mind with the forthcoming launch of King Ranch Texas Kitchen, a collaboration with agricultural production and resource management company, King Ranch, Inc. King Ranch Texas Kitchen will open at 1605 Post Oak Blvd. in time for the 2020 holiday season, according to a Wednesday release. The address was formerly occupied by Willie G’s.
Laredo, TX – Raising Cane’s
Iconic chicken finger restaurant Raising Cane’s has announced a call for Laredoans looking to join their crew as it prepares for its grand opening later this year. The management group of the restaurant also announced its grand opening, which is tentatively set to open in December at 5302 McPherson Ave. The opening date of the restaurant is good news for fans of the chain’s chicken fingers, with the nearest location of the restaurant located over 100 miles away.
