Athens, Georgia-based “build your own pizza” franchise Your Pie has announced the January ‘Pie of the Month’ winner for their third annual “What’s Your Pie?” competition. Fiercely dedicated to the expression of individuality, Your Pie invites pizza enthusiasts to share their edible work of art for all taste buds to enjoy. January’s winning pie, the “Ham-chovie Deluxe”, was created by Dan Smith of Athens, GA. The “Ham-chovie Deluxe” starts with fresh tossed dough and ranchy marinara, is sprinkled with mozzarella, and then topped with roasted garlic, baby bella mushrooms, anchovies, and ham.
The “What’s Your Pie?” contest invites pizza enthusiasts to create their own pizza at one of Your Pie’s 14 locations. Pizza builders are asked to take a picture of their edible creation, name it, and then upload at www.WhatsYourPie.com with a list of the ingredients. Each month, a customer-created pie is chosen from each Your Pie location to battle it out in a company-wide contest on www.facebook.com/yourpie. The pizza with the most “likes” by the end of each month will be crowned “Pie of the Month” and advance to the “Pie of the Year” competition.
The grand prize for the “What’s Your Pie?” contest is a trip to the Italian island of Ischia, where the Your Pie concept was inspired. Founder Drew French first fell in love with the classic brick oven style of pizza baking while on his honeymoon with his wife Natalie, whose family is from the island. “It just makes sense to share the Ischia experience with the ultimate Your Pie enthusiast,” French explained. The winning pizza will also be added to the menu at all Your Pie locations.
