Yum! China Celebrates 25th Anniversary and 4,000th KFC Restaurant

Yum! Brands, Inc. announced today that Yum! China Division has recently opened its 4,000th KFC restaurant located in Dalian, China. The milestone commemorates the Company’s 25thanniversary in China, highlighting Yum! Brands’ leading position and rapid growth as China’s largest restaurant company.

Yum! has become the largest and fastest growing restaurant company in China by pursuing a broad-based development program supported by a sophisticated supply chain infrastructure and more. KFC’s brand-building strategy has been successful due to a strong local management team, a highly-skilled workforce focused on providing outstanding customer service, plus innovative, localized menus offering value and variety to Chinese consumers.

“KFC’s success in China is not only about the increase of store counts, but beyond that,” said Sam Su, Chairman and CEO of China Division, Yum! Brands, Inc. “The transformation strategy of KFC is to connect deeply into consumers’ lives. KFC does more than sell products, it interacts with consumers in a meaningful way to become a welcomed part of their lives,” added Su.

KFC was the first quick-service restaurant chain to enter China in 1987. Today, KFC is the number one quick-service restaurant brand in China and opens more than one new KFC every day. In addition to Original Recipe chicken, KFC has an extensive menu featuring beef, seafood, rice dishes, fresh vegetables, soups, breakfast, desserts, and other products that appeal to Chinese consumers’ tastes.
