Beloved chicken brand spreads its wings in the “Gem of Kentucky” on Monday, Oct. 16
Saucy chicken chain Zaxby’s is opening its first location in historic Columbia, Kentucky at 301 Dohoney Trace. The new Zaxby’s is owned and operated by AJ Hospitality, LLC, and will open for drive-thru and dine-in on Monday, Oct. 16. The opening comes amid the brand’s recent push into new flavor territory with the introduction of its Fried Chicken Philly. The new sandwich is an elevated twist on the original Philly cheesesteak, combining traditional Philly flavors taken to the next level with Zaxbys’ famous hand-breaded chicken.
“We are so happy to bring the first Zaxby’s to the fast-growing community of Columbia,” said Scott Hail, the owner of AJ Hospitality, LLC. “It is our desire to establish a lasting relationship with Adair County residents. We are excited to bring such indescribably good chicken to this area and look forward to meeting and growing together as a community.”
The roughly 2,900 square feet, white farmhouse-style restaurant, features a spacious indoor dining room, accommodating up to 56 guests. The restaurant is equipped with an expansive back-of-house kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances to ensure hot and fresh service every time. Guests will also experience faster drive-thru service with Zaxby’s double drive-thru and digital menu boards for expedited orders and pickup.
For even faster service, customers may also order ahead online via zaxbys.com as well as through the new Zaxby’s app available for download on Google Play and the App Store. Ordering delivery is available directly through the Zaxby’s app, as well as through DoorDash, UberEats, Grubhub and other local third-party delivery services.
Recently, Zaxby’s announced its latest limited-time offer – the Fried Chicken Philly. The sandwich features Zaxbys’ signature fried or grilled chicken, savory garlic aioli, and a combination of melted American cheese, grilled peppers and onions served on a toasted hoagie roll. Starting at $7.29, the sandwich is available at participating Zaxby’s locations while supplies last. Prices may vary by location.
“We are planning to hire 50 new team members for our upcoming grand opening,” Hail added. Interested applicants can apply via Indeed.com or visit the store for walk-in interviews. Walk-in interviews will be conducted from Tuesday, October 10th to Thursday, October 12th, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. After the store opening, walk-in interviews will be available on Mondays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. until all vacancies are filled.
