So when Zinburger wanted to deliver a $12,500 check to Camp Twin Lakes, money raised during the upscale burger restaurant’s Grand Opening in June, it only made sense to team up with the campers to teach them to make gourmet burgers and pies.

Zinburger Executive Chef David Maini and several other team members paid a visit this past weekend to Camp Twin Lakes, which was hosting Camp Sunshine, a camp with children with cancer. Together, the chefs, kids and even parents and siblings all took part in a hands-on cooking demonstration.

“It was an incredibly moving experience for us,” said Chef Maini. “We wanted to do more than raise money for the camp. We wanted to be an active participant and work hand-and-hand with the kids at camp.”

Georgia-based Camp Twin Lakes is a non-profit organization that provides year-round experiences for children with serious illnesses, disabilities and other challenges.

According to Rick Barbrick, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Briad Group, a licensee for Zinburger, partnering with local charities is simply a part of the company’s DNA.

“We feel it’s our obligation. We go into communities that support us and we think it is a civic duty to support the community,” said Barbrick. Camp Twin Lakes is a wonderful organization and are honored to be a partner with them.”

During Zinburger’s Grand Opening in Lenox Square on June 17 and the weeks following, Zinburger sold a limited edition VIP Gold Card for $200. Donors received $250 in Zinburger gift cards as well as “front in line” status for one full year. Every dollar of the $200 VIP Gold Card sales went to Camp Twin Lakes.

“It is really incredible for us to be aligned with a restaurant like Zinburger that truly believes in corporate philanthropy and making a real difference in the local community, “ said Jessie Rosenberg, Director of Development, Camp Twin Lakes. “It means that more children will be able to go to camp. Camp Twin Lakes subsidizes 80% of the cost for every camper and the generous donation from Zinburger will go directly towards these camper scholarships.”

Zinburger is continuing its partnership with Camp Twin Lakes by participating in the Camp Twin Lakes Partners Card program from October 31- November 9.
